Whether you’re planning a week-long DIY summer camp or just want to have the essentials on hand, we’ve rounded up our favorite craft supplies for kids. Most of these are handy for teen and adult crafts too!

All the crafts here at Backyard Summer Camp will have their own list of different requirements. But most call for just a few basic things you might already have at home. You might have a whole craft room or just a small tote to store everything. With just a few basics – paper, scissors, glue, and coloring supplies – you can make all kinds of art projects.

We’ve tested many art supplies over the years with our kids and narrowed this list down to our favorites below. Links to Amazon are included for convenience, but you can probably also find these in person at a store near you.

For our origami tutorials, we recommend 4x4-inch solid-colored paper, but this also comes in other sizes.
