Printable kids’ activity sheets

This printable PDF bundle includes 15 activities across 20 pages for screen-free playtime. Get a closer look at a few of our favorites below.

Color and cut bookmarks

Reading is a big part of Backyard Summer Camp. One of our favorite ways to encourage young readers is with fun bookmarks!

Print this set of 4 bookmarks to color with pencils, crayons, or your favorite supplies. Then cut them out to save your page while reading a pirate story.

Designs include a crew of pirate monkeys, a treasure chest with text that reads “Books are full of treasure,” an ocean map, and a skull-and-bones pattern.

Four bookmarks printed for coloring pirate monkeys, a treasure chest, a map, and a skull pattern.

Make a treasure map

Create your own treasure map for an imaginary adventure on land or water. There are 2 pages to this printable; a map outline and an assortment of features.

Color the small items and cut them out, then glue them to the map page. You can add islands for an ocean adventure, draw unique landscapes that include volcanoes, or even create a map that looks like your backyard.

Pirate puzzles

This activity bundle includes several puzzles to solve, including a pirate-themed word search, word scramble, and color-and-count activity.

Writing activities

We’ve included our favorite writing activity, a storyteller game inspired by Mad Libs. This set of printables also includes a fun challenge. How many short words can you make from a long word? See how many you can create from “swashbuckler.”
