The best way for kids to learn about artists is to create projects inspired by their work. We’ve compiled a list that includes a mix of 14 artists from the past 2 centuries, as well as some fun activities to do with your kids.
For simplicity, we focused primarily on different painting styles. But of course, art is subjective and includes everything from sculpture and architecture to photography and fashion – and dozens of other mediums. Many of the activities take inspiration from paintings and apply it to craft materials.
If you’re looking for a fun and age-appropriate way to introduce these artists to your kids, we adore the “Who Was?” book series. There are almost 200 books in this series and they include famous figures throughout history.
